July Favorites

I know!! I know!! It’s a little late to be doing a favorites post for July, but give me a break this is my first favorites post and I wanted to really make sure I was in love with the products I will be mentioning before I wrote this post. But better late than never!!

Starting with my makeup favorites from July: I received a Wantable box in May and this product was one of the items I found in my box, the Pla Beauty Super Wear Gel Liner in Noir 1. This eye liner is just a simple black pencil but it goes on so smoothly and boldly and I absolutely love how it looks on my eyes. While I have yet to figure out how to or even if you’re able to sharpen the dang thing I still love it.
Another makeup favorite of mine would have to be my e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit in Medium. I love how easy this kit is to use and it is so natural looking. I never really got the hang of using a brow pencil, it always turned out way to dark and unnatural looking… But with this I just use the fluffy brush the kit came with for the powder and apply that to the inner part of my brow then use a liner brush to apply the wax to the rest of my brow to shape and fill. This eyebrow kit was only three dollars from Target and I will for sure be purchasing this again!

Now for my beauty and hair favorites: for my hair this is a long time favorite of mine I’ve been using it ever since I started using products in my hair, and yes, I have tried other brands and types of products to get the desired look but I always come back to this certain product. The Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. I love this serum because it doesn’t make my hair feel or look greasy if used correctly, and believe me it took me a while to figure out how to use it in a way that won’t make my hair look gross. The way I use it is I use one pump while my hair is wet and just work it through the ends and the top, but not the roots, then I style my hair how I normally would and if it still looks a little frizzy after blow drying and heat styling then I apply another half a pump to the top to smooth down the frizz. I don’t recall the cost of the serum but it is available in Target stores!
Next is my beauty favorite for July. I actually got this about a week before July was over but after one use I was hooked! I have been on the hunt for a good moisturizer for my face that has SPF in it and I couldn’t find one that didn’t smell like sunscreen or make my face greasy and slimy. Until one day I found the Botanics Mattifying Day Cream Sunsceen (SPF 15) in my mom’s bathroom and used some. It was AMAZING so I bought myself a jar the next day at Target! If I remember correctly it was about $14 for a 50ml jar, but trust me this stuff goes a long way. It smells incredible and it feels so soft and not like sunscreen at all!! This product will be a favorite for a long while I can tell already!

One last favorite to share, my fashion favorite! This summer I got a job at a shoe store called Aldo, since I have an amazing employee discount I have been using it A LOT to buy shoes and accessories for schoolwhich has saved me so much money!! Recently my favorite and only little watch broke so I had been going without one and I was not a fan. So I bought one from Aldo! I am obsessed! The face of the watch is gold and big but not so big that it’s heavy or uncomfortable. And the best part is it came with 5 different bands so it matches every single outfit and it looks like I am wearing a different watch everyday, even though it’s the same watch!! I have had it for about a month and a half now and I have had no issues, the bands are super cute and great quality! Highly recommend 10/10!!! you can find sets similar to the one I bought here. unfortunately the set I bought isn’t sold anymore online although we still have it in stores, but the sets they are selling are still SUPER CUTE and I wish I could buy them all!!

Rose Gold Eye Makeup

20140721_224816    I got some inspiration for this look from Pinterest however the makeup turned out more pink on the Pinterest tutorial even though it was the same makeup, buuuut I wasn’t a huge fan of how pink it was anyways so I am very pleased with how this look turned out.

This look is very easy to accomplish and is perfect for day and is very easy to spice up for the evening. These two pictures are two different days and two slightly different looks.

What I used to accomplish this look:

Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette

Urban Decay eyeshadow primer

an angled liner brush

Maybelline the Rocket Volume mascara

( I used my fingers to apply all of the eyeshadow except for the liner, I find it leads to less fall out and a more vibrant color)

20140722_112830How to accomplish this look:

(In an everyday situation I put on my liquid foundation first then eyeshadow hen concealer and the rest, but for this look I started with the eyeshadow because of how much fall out I had it was easier to clean it up with the foundation. )

Step 1: apply a generous amount of eyeshadow primer to your entire eyelid, the inner corner of  your eye and the lower lash line.

Step 2: apply Dust on your lid up to the crease area and out about half way.

Step 3: apply Nooner to the outer V area but not the crease, bring Nooner out a ways, this is dependent on how big you are wanting to make your wing, small wing, bring the shadow out a little bit, big wing drag it farther out.

Step 4: on top of Nooner apply a small amount of Buzz just to add some shimmer and a bit more pink.

Step 5: blend Burnout into the crease

Step 6: use Strange as a highlighter in the brow arch and inner corner

Step 7: use either Darkside or Blackheart as your liner on the top and bottom, I used Blackheart on the top and Darkside on the bottom because I don’t care for a dark bottom lash line.

Like I said this look is easy to go from day to night, keep the liner light and thin for a day look and make it darker and heavier for  night look.

May Wantable Box

So I got an email from a website I had entered a giveaway on and this website was enticing.  It was telling me to order a monthly box of goodies. I investigate this idea of a monthly goody box and thought it sounded like fun! Wantable.com was the website that had sent me the email. You have three choices of a box, makeup, accessories, or intimates. you can either pay $36 per month and receive one surprise box a month or you can pay $40 once for one box. I decided I don’t really have the money for a subscription so i just paid the $40 and got myself one box. I chose makeup because I have an addiction and no I don’t want help for my addiction.

In my Wantable Box I received four items; two Eleece mask mask pouches which retail for $15 per packet. ncLA nail lacquer in Not So Sweet which retails for $16 per polish. La Bella Donna lip stick in the shade Pink Sand retailing for $24.50, and lastly black (noir) gel eyeliner from (Pla) Beauty retailing for $22.

I haven’t yet had a chance to try out the face mask but I am very excited to try it out soon! The nail polish is a beautiful light pink nude kind of color and the quality of the lacquer is top notch! I was extremely excited to see lip stick in my box when I opened it, I LOVE lipstick. Basically every time I go to the drug store or target I end up with a new lipstick! So I was obviously very happy with this gorgeous pink lipstick, the quality is amazing it goes on so smooth and it stays on for a good while as well. In the past I haven’t had good experiences with solid or gel eyeliner, I am a liquid liner type of gal, so I was a bit weary to try to wear this gel liner, but I was quite impressed, it is soft enough to go on easily without pulling my eyelid around and it isn’t a super ark black so I can layer it for any look I want and it’s easy to smudge for a smokey look as well.

Over all I highly recommend purchasing a Wantable box at least one time, it is so much fun and so worth it for the quality of the products you receive. Good job Wantable I am one happy camper with my May box.
